About This Piece

Vintage Design

The original chair designed by Otakar Binar for the Avion hotel bar on Ještěd. Academic architect Otakar Binar was born in 1931. Co-founder of the famous SIAL group of architects, he worked with the Ještěd Hotel and Transmitter between the 1960s and the 1960s on the interior furnishings and furniture. He designed lighting fixtures, bar stools, armchairs, ashtrays and other furnishings for the hotel. A few years ago, the hotel premises underwent extensive reconstruction with the restoration of the original furnishings, on which the Ještěd 73 civic association collaborated with architect Otakar Binar. The chair has a chrome base and seat with a non-original cover. The whole chair is in perfect original condition.
