Vintage Italian travertine table lamp (circa 1970s). Travertine is a natural sedimentary rock that is most often found in Italy and used in architecture and indoor decoration. The stone has a timeless appeal and beauty with which fe w materials can compete. Its classic, distinct appearance is characterised by a somewhat weathered look which gives it a highly unique quality. In fact, it is believed that the stone dates back to use in ancient Roman times. This lamp presents all of those qualities in a modern shape with a keen contrast with the satiny brass light holder. The original lampshade is included with the purchase.
