Mmairo

Carrara, Italy

Renowned for its elegant minimalist marble creations, Italian manufacturer Mmairo has already carved out a respected name for itself in the international design sphere.

Founded in 2016, the company is based in Carrara, a region famous for its white marble quarries, stone and granite trade, and associated craftsmanship. It is no wonder then, that marble is Mmairo’s material of choice, due to its dreamlike quality, endless veins, and variety of colors. The company produces exquisite objects for the table and living room, designed by international designers and artists who share its vision. Using only the finest materials and hand-finished by local highly skilled artisans, the finished pieces by Mmairo undergo a strict protocol for quality control before they are shipped to customers all over the world.

The company collaborates with new designers every year to create exciting pieces, many of which have been shown in museums, foundations, galleries, and international fairs and been included in several international design publications.

Notable past collaboration include Lebanese designer Karen Chekerdjian, whose famous Totem is now part of the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, while the marble version is part of Mmairo's collection, which has been presented at the Salone Satellite 20 years (Milan, 2017) and featured in several magazines (WallpaperMag, AD Decoration). Another significant collaboration was with Michele Chiossi, a well-known Italian sculptor, some of whose pieces designed for Mmairo have been exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone (Italy) and one of his Kadomatsu marbles vases is part of the permanent collection of the Museum. Other noteworthy collaborations include Matteo Cibic (named International Young Talent of the Year 2017 by Elle Decor) and Ivan Colominas, whose work has garnered six Red Dot Awards.

The company’s clients include high-end stores, showrooms, interior designers and architects across the world and private customers who shop directly through luxury websites. Mmairo’s collections have been presented in Milan during the 2017 and 2018 Design Weeks in the Brera design district and the new collection will be presented during Milan Design Week in 2019.
