About the Creator

AMBIVALENZ

The label AMBIVALENZ was established in 2012 by Malte Grieb in Berlin. It is no coincidence that it was born in the city. The versatile furniture from AMBIVALENZ responds directly to the special requirements of urban space: flexible, space-saving and as creative as its inhabitants. It adapts to changing circumstances of the modern lifestyle. In times when tiny houses and other micro-living concepts are booming, consumers demand furniture that creates maximum function in minimum space. This need is fulfilled by the flat, minimalistic Fläpps folding furniture.

From wall desks to chairs, Fläpps makes small rooms look big and supports multiple charming uses. When unfolded, the furniture offers comfort and functionality; when folded, it disappears inconspicuously and flat against the wall. All Fläpps items are manufactured in Berlin. The new Curt sofa system is just as simple as it is original, with a single modular form that allows freedom of design. Curt means the freedom of not having to commit. With modules connected by a strap, Curt can be rebuilt, extended or changed in color as desired. Our adaptable, innovative furnishing solutions fit perfectly into the hybrid spaces of today, in which conventional boundaries between living areas are dissolving. They are in demand in both residential and commercial sectors. Whether in a single apartment, a hotel or a co-working space, the minimalistic furniture is most striking in use. Because with AMBIVALENZ the motto is always: strikingly restrained.
