Hilda Hellström

Hilda Hellström was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. She studied Fine Art at La Massana in Barcelona (2003-2004), Drawing & Illustration at Kobehavns Tekniske Skole in Copenhagen (2004), and Fine Art at Gerlesborgs Konstskola in Stockholm (2005-2007). Hellström earned her BFA in Product Design from Stockholm’s Beckmans College of Design in 2010 and her Masters in Design Products from London’s Royal College of Art in 2012.

Now based in London, Hellström’s primarily craft-based designs explore fiction, truth, and new realities. Her work considers the concepts of myth and object narrative, as well as the notions of “fake” and “real.” Notable series include The Materiality of a Natural Disaster and the Sedimentation urns and vessels.
