Andrea Dasha Reich

Sarasota, United States

Artist and designer Andrea Dasha Reich was born in Prague in the Czech Republic in 1946. Her family relocated to Israel in 1960, and she studied fine arts at the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design in Jerusalem, under respected modernist painters Yossi Stern and Moshe Rosenthalis. In 1966, she immigrated to the United States, and worked in fashion design, home furnishing, accessories, and textile design. In 1997, Reich established her own painting studio in New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood. In 2001, she relocated the studio to Sarasota, Florida.

Reich is known for her colorful, abstract paintings, especially those in pure pigments, metallic foils, and layers of epoxy resin. Her work is inspired both by the organic shapes and planes in nature as well as our global culture. Widely collected, her work has been included in exhibitions at galleries such as Etra Fine Art, Miami; PISMO Contemporary Art Glass, Denver, Colorado; Atmosphere Gallery, New York; Grohe/Signature Gallery, Boston, Massachusetts; and Loft Gallery, Omaha, Nevada.

She lives and works in Sarasota, Florida.
