This piece is a Victorian era sapphire and diamond bangle bracelet, and is a stunning example of the fine craftsmanship typical of the mid to late 19th century.
A classic hinged cuff bracelet, crafted in 18K yellow gold, with a linear top row alternating blue sapphire and rose-cut diamond gemstones.
Blue Sapphires: Eight (8) of 0.40 to 0.60 carats each The deep blue, oval-cut sapphires are set in a symmetrical row.
Total weight of the blue sapphire approx. 4.50cts
Rose cut diamonds: Seven (7) set between the sapphires, the rose cut diamonds, total weight approx. 1.50cts, which are a hallmark of Victorian jewelery as they offer a soft shine with a domed, faceted surface rather than the modern brilliant cut.
Setting: The settings are traditional Victorian style. It has a safety chain, indicating that attention has been paid to safety, another sign of period authenticity.
